Google is about to bring free high speed WiFi access across 400 railway stations in India. Making train journeys a lot more enjoyable, this will be in collaboration with the Indian Railways. Google will be using the Google Fiber project, known for providing broadband in the USA, that'll provide high speed internet connection for everyone.
In their latest attempt to digitize India, this service is said to be expanded to Indian cities under the name 'Project Nilgiri'. Indian Railways are working with the tech giants to set up Wifi hotspots across select railway stations.
It is said that commuters can enjoy high speed internet for the first half hour before the speed gets reduced. However, the connectivity will remain throughout. The first phase of this project is supposed to be up and running in a span of about 4 months.
