A powerful storm formed a spectacular 'tsunami' like cloud over Sydney's famous Bondi Beach in Australia.
The crowd had gathered at Bondi's annual 'sculpture by the sea' festival as the massive cloud was spotted nearing the coast.
South Australia and Victoria are also experiencing freak weather, with Adelaide and Port Lincoln experienced flash floods after major storms.
After 1 pm the weather turned and the Bureau of Meteorology issued a severe weather warning for Sydney’s northern beaches, saying the worst would hit from 3.25 pm. Drivers in Melbourne were forced to wade past flood-waters on Thursday. Queensland on the other hand battled lightning and drought in areas which haven't seen severe rain in many years.
Almost 86 mm fell in just 24 hours in Hall, a small country town north of Melbourne - the heaviest rainfall the area has seen in a staggering 16 years.
