NASA Says The Antarctica Ice Shelf Is Expanding, Not Contracting. We Tell You Why It's Not A Good News

You know that feeling called bittersweet confusion? If you don't here's something that will give you the same sensation.
Our friendly geology affectionados at NASA have come up with a stunning revelation that Antarctica is not losing it's ice shelf but gaining it.
The Ice Shelf In Antarctica Is Expanding, Not Contracting. We Tell You Why It
Yepee! so that means that global warming is not as severe as suggested earlier and sea levels may not be rising as alarmingly! right? Wrong!
The sea levels are in fact rising and now the issue is that scientists have no clue why! - remember that confusion we talked about earlier?
This confusion was echoed by Jay Zwally, lead author of the paper - “Mass gains of the Antarctic ice sheet exceed losses"- and NASA glaciologist,in a press-release.
“The good news is that Antarctica is not currently contributing to sea level rise, but is taking 0.23 millimeters per year away, " he said.
"But this is also bad news,” he voiced concern. “If the 0.27 millimeters per year of sea level rise attributed to Antarctica in the IPCC report is not really coming from Antarctica, there must be some other contribution to sea level rise that is not accounted for.”

Till now the rising elevation of Antarctic regions was attributed to snowfall, a theory which have been proved false with the latest revelation.
NASA is currently working on a new satellite capable of a more accurately measuring long-term changes in ice in Antarctica. They say ICESat-2 will be able to measure changes in the ice sheet within "the thickness of a pencil”
