This is a classic example of Days of Future Past. No, it's got nothing to do with X-Men but it's quite interesting. You'll see.
You know how we often envision the future and let our imagination run wild as to what it would look like say, 10 or 20 years down the line. Believe it or not, our predecessors were quite the visualizers themselves. Putting their mind's eye to test, they painted quite an image of the future, that is our present.
"France in the Year 2000" is one example, wherein painters like Jean-Marc Cote and others in 1899, 1900, 1901, and 1910, drew a series of paintings that portrayed what the new millennium would hold for them. Initially these paintings were encased in cigarette and cigar boxes before seeing the light of day as postcards.
Some of their ideas depict scenes from men's salons, modern day orchestras, and deep sea diving. Let's look at them, shall we?

Maybe we can paint our own version of it, what say?
