Here’s Your First Look at J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter Prequel Movie

The film is set for a 2016 reelase
The first look at Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is quite familiar.
The newly released title treatment for the upcoming Warner Brothers film—which is a prequel to theHarry Potter series—shows the title’s letters rendered in a metallic design reminiscent of the original Harry Potter films, according to an image first reported byEntertainment Weekly. The designers made one big change to the letters, replacing the lightning bolt on the original “P” in “Potter” with a serpentine “S” in “Beasts.”

“You’re trying to capture a lot of different imaginations, but the logo—that’s for everybody,” the design team told J.K. Rowling’s website Pottermore. “The logo is a blend of beasts, it’s not just one takeaway. When we arrived on [the] idea for the ’S’ it excited us. So we thought there must be a way to accent these other letters with claws or ribs — hints to other beasts, while this one is the logo’s centrepiece.”

Fantastic Beasts is based on Rowling’s 2001 catalog of magical creatures from the wizarding world. The film is set in 1926 New York and stars Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne as “magizoologist” Newt Scamander.

Along with the logo, the film launched a Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. The movie is set to be released Nov. 18, 2016.
