Shaandaar's songs might have been topping the charts for some time now, but Lata Mangeshkar isn't quite happy about it. Yes, you read that right. The film features a remixed version of the classic "Neend Na Mujhko Aaye" which shows lead pair Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt struggling to get some sleep. But it seems like it hasn't gone down too well with the song's original singer Lata Mangeshkar, who said she doesn't want to hear the new version.

Mangeshkar, who sang the song with the legendary Hemant Kumar, has allegedly taken offence at Shaandaar director Vikas Bahl's interpretation of the iconic song. She, along with many other fans, did not like the way Bahl played around with P.L. Santoshi's original lyrics as a clarion call for insomniacs. They have also found fault with Mike McCleary's spin on it, who has reproduced its music.

Bahl had also presented a remixed version of Asha Bhosle's "Hungama Ho Gaya" in his previous blockbuster Queen starring Kangana Ranaut.
"Need Na Mujhko Aaye" was not initially a part of Shaandaar's music album. The makers planned to add it as a jazzy remixed version of the old classic from the filmPost Box 999.
